Rose Boatwright

Rose is a highly accomplished professional with over 35 years of experience in forensic investigations, fraud examination, and commercial crime prevention. As a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) and member of the Institute of Commercial Forensic Practitioners (ICFP), her extensive career includes pivotal roles in the South African Police Service (SAPS) Commercial Branch (Specialized Commercial Crimes Unit), the Auditor General, PricewaterhouseCoopers, and the Special Investigating Unit (SIU). She has also served as Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Open Water Advanced Risk Solutions and as an Associate Director at Grant Thornton. Currently, Rose is the Head of Investigations and a Director in CAJV and leads a Multidisciplinary Task Team (MDTT) for the Department of Home Affairs, focusing on fraud and corruption in the issuance of visas and permits for foreign nationals.

Rose brings deep expertise in conducting complex investigations to uncover system vulnerabilities, financial losses, and fraudulent methodologies. Her work spans disciplinary and administrative processes, criminal and civil litigation, and providing critical support to legal practitioners. With extensive experience testifying in criminal, civil, and disciplinary proceedings, Rose is widely regarded as a trusted expert in her field.

Her thorough understanding of legislation governing financial management in both public and private sectors, combined with her skills in forensic investigations, report writing, and analytical thinking, has enabled her to establish and lead forensic investigative units across various organizations.

In recognition of her expertise, the Minister of Home Affairs appointed Rose to serve on a Ministerial Committee at the Government Printing Works, where she continues to contribute her knowledge to key national initiatives.
